Minos X. Kyriakou
Minos X. Kyriakou came from a family known for its shipping activities since the middle of the nineteenth century when Kyriakou Shipping and Trading Ltd. was first established.
He launched Athenian Holdings, a global oil shipping business that owns a modern fleet of VLCCs (Very Large Crude Carriers).
In 1988, Mr. Kyriakou first ventured into the world of media by founding one of the first private radio stations in Greece followed by Antenna TV (Ant1), one of the first private TV channels in Greece. This was the genesis of Antenna Group, of which he later became Chairman.
Mr. Kyriakou was the Chairman of “The Aegean Foundation”, a non-profit organization whose activities concern the study and promotion of issues regarding the broader Mediterranean area.
Mr. Kyriakou was also the Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Singapore in Greece as well as Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Greece.
He served as Chairman of the Greek National Olympic Committee and President of the International Olympic Academy.
Mr. Minos Kyriakou passed away in July 2017.
